Basic knowledge of HTML has always been an enlightening moment as it provided a simple basis of how websites work and are created. As far as I know, I learned that HTML means HyperText Markup Language or is the backbone of every page. It defines its contents and layout. I have learned how important syntax and structure are in coding by using tags and elements like <html>, <head>, <body>, and <p>. Through hands-on practice, I was able to create simple web pages with text, images, and links, showing how each line of code contributed to the final visual output. This understanding of HTML has given me the confidence to explore web development further. I also realized the usage of attributes in personalizing an element and, therefore improving its functionality.
Attributes, such as src, href, and alt, opened my eyes to how HTML combines the simple with versatility to generate an interactive, user-friendly web page. It was surprising how formatting text with headings, paragraphs, and lists can bring order and clarity to content. Experimenting with different elements reinforced the concept of nesting and hierarchy, where the proper arrangement of tags ensures a webpage functions correctly. This knowledge has deepened my appreciation for the seamless design of modern websites. Overall, the introduction to basic HTML has been an exciting journey into the world of coding and web design. Not only did it teach me the technical skills, but it also gave me a sense of encouragement in problem-solving and creativity while designing and debugging simple web pages.
I think that HTML is not really about coding; it is about communication. It expresses ideas into visual and interactive forms. This experience sparked a curiosity to further learn other technologies in web development, including CSS. Learning HTML has been an empowering step toward understanding the digital world we interact with every day.
