123 Years of Excellence: A Celebration to Remember

We spent weeks practicing for our field demo dance to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of Ilocos Sur National High School. The preparation was exhausting, but every moment was worth it because I genuinely enjoyed the experience. We even made our own props, adding a personal touch to our performance. When the big day finally arrived, we put on our PE uniforms, grabbed our props, and joined our classmates, excited yet nervous for what was ahead.

The event started with a 5km parade from 7 AM to 9 AM, which was tiring but also a lot of fun. After the long walk, we went back to our classrooms to eat and recharge before our big performance. As we stepped onto the field, we gave our all, dancing to La Bamba with energy and confidence, hoping to impress the crowd and the judges. When the results were announced, the Grade 10 boys proudly secured second place, while the Grade 10 girls earned fourth place. Even though not everyone won, we were all proud of our efforts.

Celebrating our school’s founding anniversary felt meaningful because it reminded us of its long history and achievements. More than just a competition, the event brought us closer as a school community. It was a day filled with hard work, fun, and school pride—one that we will always remember.

Q2 Reflection

Image Source Basic knowledge of HTML has always been an enlightening moment as it provided a simple basis of how websites work and are created. As far as I know, I learned that HTML means HyperText Markup Language or is the backbone of every page. It defines its contents and layout. I have learned how important syntax and structure are in coding by using tags and elements like <html> ,  <head> , <body> , and <p> . Through hands-on practice, I was able to create simple web pages with text, images, and links, showing how each line of code contributed to the final visual output. This understanding of HTML has given me the confidence to explore web development further. I also realized the usage of attributes in personalizing an element and, therefore improving its functionality. Attributes, such as src , href , and alt , opened my eyes to how HTML combines the simple with versatility to generate an interactive, user-friendly web page. It was surprising how form...

Building Connections: Reflection and Lessons Learned from Our Community-Based Research Project

Through this community-based research (CBR) project, I have learned a lot about how to study real-life problems in the community. I learned how to use research methods and work with the community to collect important information. Working on the web design was also a great experience because I manage to improve my previous skills on how to make websites that are easy to use and show information clearly. This project also showed me how important it is to work together as a team, because everyone has different skills and ideas to share. In the end, this project helped me get better at both research and web design while also learning how to involve the community better. One of the problems I faced was making sure the web design looks good and is easy to use for many different people. It was hard to balance making the website fun to look at and making sure it was easy to navigate. Another problem was getting enough good data for the research, since working with the community took a l...
