Draft 1/Blog Post No. 1: Breaking the Prevalence, Ending the Violence: A Call to Protect Children

The 2024 National Children's Month Celebration emphasizes a significant need: to protect the rights and welfare of children. Violence against children remains very prevalent in the country, often manifested in various ways-violence through abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This is an issue that calls for collaboration from families, communities, and the government in ensuring that the child can grow up safely in their own country.

Normalization of violence within several communities makes combating violence a massive task. A lot of harmful practices are passed down from generation to generation, for instance, corporal punishment. Awareness campaigns and education programs teaching positive discipline and children's rights will be essential. Schools, religious institutions, and the local organizations will have a role to fill by instilling values that uphold dignity and protect children from injury.

As we mark the celebration of National Children's Month, let us renew our commitment to a safe Philippines for this younger generation. This entails stricter policies to protect children against all forms of abuse, making accessible mental health support available, and ensuring that justice is properly served to victims. In a way, ending the cycle of violence would help protect the future for children but, more so, lay down the foundation for a stronger, more compassionate society.
