Building My Skills: Reflections and Challenges in Microsoft Frontpage

During the Last quarter, I learned many things about MS FrontPage and how to create web pages. I discovered how to design a website using different tools and features in the software. It was exciting to see how web pages are made and how they function. I also improved my skills in organizing content and making my designs more user-friendly. Learning these new things made me more interested in web development.

However, I also faced some challenges while working with MS FrontPage. One of the problems was understanding some of the tools and how to use them properly. Sometimes, I had trouble arranging elements on the page the way I wanted. There were also times when the software did not work as expected, which made things difficult. Despite these challenges, I kept trying and looked for ways to solve them.

To overcome these difficulties, I practiced more and asked for help when needed. I also searched for tutorials and guides to understand the software better. When I made mistakes, I learned from them and tried again until I got it right. I realized that patience and practice are important in learning new skills. Moving forward, I will continue to improve my web development skills and explore more advanced tools to become better at designing websites.

Q2 Reflection

Image Source Basic knowledge of HTML has always been an enlightening moment as it provided a simple basis of how websites work and are created. As far as I know, I learned that HTML means HyperText Markup Language or is the backbone of every page. It defines its contents and layout. I have learned how important syntax and structure are in coding by using tags and elements like <html> ,  <head> , <body> , and <p> . Through hands-on practice, I was able to create simple web pages with text, images, and links, showing how each line of code contributed to the final visual output. This understanding of HTML has given me the confidence to explore web development further. I also realized the usage of attributes in personalizing an element and, therefore improving its functionality. Attributes, such as src , href , and alt , opened my eyes to how HTML combines the simple with versatility to generate an interactive, user-friendly web page. It was surprising how form...

Bridging Cultures: Why Filipinos Celebrate Chinese New Year

Filipinos celebrate Chinese New Year to honor the deep-rooted cultural and economic connections between the Philippines and China. Historically, the Chinese community have significantly influenced Filipino culture, contributing to various traditions and practices (Wickberg, 2000). In 2012, the Philippine government has recognized this by declaring Chinese New Year a special non-working holiday, allowing both Filipinos and Filipino-Chinese to partake in the festivities (Tan, 2011). This move underscored the nation's acknowledgment of the Chinese community's integral role in a Philippine society. This is shows how much Chinese traditions have shaped Filipino customs over time (Ang See, 1997). The celebration is marked by various custom and tradition that symbolize good fortune and prosperity. Families prepare special dishes like a tikoy , which are believed to bring unity and harmony among friends and family members (Chu, 2010). Lion and dragon dance was performed in streets and ...
